Why does an individual have worth

There are many ways you can increase your self-worth. Self-compassion is a wonderful place to start. Self-compassion is the ability to be kind to yourself and actually say and do kind things towards ourselves the same way we would a good friend versus being self-critical. We can remember and remind ourselves that everyone makes mistakes and is imperfect as this is what makes us all humans. You have to start by noticing that you are struggling and allow yourself to sit with whatever emotions may arise from situations.

Accidents happen. Things lose value, break down, get lost, get old, and die. The person who honors their worthiness knows that they can enjoy external things without attaching their identity to them. They appreciate what they have while they have it, and wholeheartedly strives to get what they truly want.

The difference is that a person with a solid sense of self-worth creates space for their emotions without feeling guilty about them. They understand that their emotions are just tools that are helping them pay attention. They notice their emotions, and allow them to be as they are. Then, when this person no longer needs those emotions, they simply let them go.

A self-worthy person is not afraid to be alone. They love hanging out with their closest friends and family, but also cherish solo time. They create time and space for themselves, and honor that by setting firm boundaries. They do not allow people to encroach on their privacy. They invite people into their life who have earned the right to be there — and recognize that other people have the right to invite them in or not , as well. They simply remember that only they are responsible for their feelings, thoughts, and actions.

They do — we all do. The difference comes in how these feelings are handled. What do you value most in life? What do you look forward to doing? A self-worthy person puts their needs first. They inherently know that they can only love and help others to the extent that they love and help themselves, so they make time and set aside energy to invest in the life they want. They are able to help others by helping themselves. They believe in fair trade and equal exchange. Self-worth requires the belief that the world is a like a mirror.

And their judgment can only hurt you to the extent that you hold that judgment against yourself, as well. Hair loss, wrinkles, and a middle-age spread can become catastrophic for anyone whose self-worth depends on their physical appearance.

You likely know at least one person's whose self-worth is measured by their income or material possessions. But people who measure their self-worth by the net worth never feel "valuable enough. And it's not just wealthy people who define themselves by the size of their bank accounts. Many people live beyond their means in an attempt to feel "good enough. There are several ways people depend on others to give them value. While one person may only feel good about herself when she's in a relationship, someone else may feel as though name dropping well-known people will gain the admiration from others he needs to feel good.

Some people only feel worthy when they surround themselves with important people. A lengthy list of personal contacts and a busy social calendar help them feel valuable and important. Depending on other people to make you feel good is like chasing a moving target. You can't control what other people think of you and certainly can't please everyone all the time.

You'll never be able to receive enough praise and positive reinforcement to genuinely feel good about yourself. A career helps many people feel worthwhile. Bottom line: Your worth is entirely up to you. You are worthy because you say you're worthy and because you believe it. Look within, and trust that you are enough.
